Not every couple gets professional engagement photos, and that’s okay.

Sometimes life gets busy, wedding planning takes over, or the season simply passes before you ever get around to documenting it. But just because you didn’t have engagement photos before your wedding doesn’t mean you can’t have them now.

That’s exactly what brought Doris, Daniel, and I together at Bath Gardens in Blythe, Georgia.

The two of them are already married, but they never had the chance to have professional engagement photos taken. So, we decided to create them now.

We spent the afternoon exploring the gardens, capturing romantic portraits, candid moments, and the kind of photographs that celebrate the love they share. Their session was a sweet reminder that you don’t need a specific milestone to celebrate your love.

Engagement Session at Bath Gardens

Bath Gardens was such a beautiful setting for their session. We spent the hour moving through the gardens and taking advantage of the different surroundings while keeping the experience relaxed and focused on the two of them.

I wanted their photographs to feel romantic without feeling overly posed, so we incorporated a mixture of guided portraits and natural interactions.

There were plenty of moments for them to simply enjoy being together, which allowed us to capture photographs that felt genuine to their relationship.

Engagement Session Outfits

Doris and Daniel brought two different outfit combinations to their session, giving their gallery a nice variety while still complementing each other.

For their first look, Doris wore a short white dress while Daniel paired a white patterned shirt with blue pants. The light, neutral tones created a classic and timeless look that worked beautifully against the gardens.

For their second outfit, Doris changed into a tropical-print jumpsuit, while Daniel wore a cream patterned shirt with tan pants. This look brought in more color and personality while still coordinating.

Their two outfits are a great example of how you can create variety in your session by choosing one classic look and one that incorporates a little more color, pattern, or personality.
