Surprise Proposal Session in North Augusta, South Carolina
When Jackson reached out to me about photographing a surprise proposal for his girlfriend, Maggie, I could hardly contain my excitement. He had such a thoughtful plan. The two of them would enjoy their anniversary dinner at a nearby restaurant before taking a walk along the river, eventually making their way to the dock where he would get down on one knee.
As they walked closer, I did my best to stay hidden so Maggie wouldn’t notice me before the big moment. Watching everything unfold was so special, and I’m so grateful I was able to capture her genuine surprise and all of the emotion. Those authentic reactions are always some of my favorite moments to photograph.
Proposal Session at Hammond’s Ferry
Jackson chose such a beautiful spot for this unforgettable moment. The dock overlooking the river created the perfect setting for such a meaningful surprise. To give them the space to fully enjoy the moment together, I stayed a good distance away and photographed everything with a telephoto lens. This allowed me to capture every smile, happy tear, and heartfelt reaction without interrupting such a personal memory.

Maggie looked beautiful in a floral dress paired with heels, while Jackson wore a light-colored shirt and pants. Their outfits complemented each other perfectly without being overly matching, and the soft, neutral tones fit the riverside setting so well. They created a timeless, elegant look that photographed beautifully.
